Within a span of few years,
ARL rapidly established its name in India and

Establishments, ESI, CGHS, State Governments,
Public Sector Companies, P&T, Railways and
World Bank Projects, etc., to name a few. In
1996, ARL went public and is listed at major
Stock Exchanges in India. Today, ARL is a profit-making,
dividend-paying Company with an annual turnover
of Rs.I00 Crores.
BUSINESS AT ITS BEST
ARL's state-of-the-art Manufacturing
facility and sophisticated Research & Development
Lab, spread across 40,000 sq.ft, at Kakkalur,
45 Kms from Chennai, has been certified with
GMP, under WHO norms. This factory manufactures
pharmaceutical products in various dosages,
like Tablets, Capsules, Liquids, Ointments,
Creams, Suspensions, Dry Syrups, liquids in
addition to Ayurvedic and Herbal Products;
ARL's core business is manufacturing and marketing
its wide range of quality pharmaceutical products
focusing on Ethical, Institutional, International,
Over the Counter and Branded Generics &
Generics business segments.
Recently, ARL has developed
and launched a holistic drug, "PANKARE",
based on a herbal formulation as enunciated
in Ayurvedic, which is a comprehensive combination
of nine Sanjeevinis and offers restoration,
regeneration and rejuvenation of pancreatic
beta cells.
The selected herbs in "PANKARE"
are scientifically and clinically proven to
possess anti-diabetic properties by acting upon
the pancreas by restoration and regeneration
of pancreatic beta cells activity. The ingredients
have also been found to possess antioxidant,
anti-hypertensive and hypocholesterolmic properties
in addition to the anti-diabetic property.
Among its other innovative
initiatives, ARL has developed a product called
"SOREXIL" which cures bedsores and
chronic ulcers; ailments that hitherto had no
cure.
With the success of the present
Business and acceptance of its products by the
medical fraternity, ARL is developing new products
both in Allopathy and Ayurveda in the Therapy
areas of Cardiovascular Diseases, Dermatology,
Nutrition, Pain Management and Gynecology.
Having the success of the domestic
market behind it, ARL has forged ahead past
the horizon to rise up in the International
market too. ARL exports its products, to Africa,
Commonwealth Of Independent States and Asia.
The Future
The world is looking towards
India for innovative Herbal Products and ARL
through its R & D team is working on new
Herbal Research Products, which will be marketed
in the country and in the International market.
The implementation of GATT agreement in India
by the year 2005 opens up huge possibilities
for Generic & Branded Generic Business as
most of the existing products of the Company
will be out of Patent by that time.

growth US and European markets and secondly,
